exciting!
I wanna just start by letting my readers know that my New Years Resolution was to put out twice as many articles as I did last year.
I know right!
Secondly I would like to let said readers know that I have never in my life kept a New Years Resolution so take the few that you get and be happy =)

Now on with the show.

Now on with the show.

So to quickly recap 2009...we didn't win the World Series.
That's it, nothing else...there is nothing else! While the ultimate goal of a team like the Kansas City Royals might be to sell 50,000 tickets combined in 2009 when you have a team like the Sox the only goal is a title and they didn't achieve that.

The Yankees signed every free agent in the off season last year and while he started fairly slow I think Texiera was what put them over the top. Taking nothing away from Casey Kotchman of course. Simply put; we signed Brad Penny, John Smoltz and Casey Kotchman and the Yankees signed the other guys. We bought the KIA while the Yankees rolled up in a brand new Lexus. We were watchin basic cable while the Yanks were in ole High Def. We were busy dry humpin while the Yankees were havin a wild 3sum.

We were...OK, enough, I think you get the point.

The Yankees are the defending World Champions of baseball! Am I bitter?
Slightly. Am I surprised? Not even the slightest of slightly. They made the moves, spent the money and it paid off. And truth be told Shrekiera wasn't signing with the Sox no matter how much money they offered him. So congrats to the Yankees, now time to move on to 2010.

First things first, are the Sox a better team? Well they did sign Boof Bonser!
And John
Lackey of course but every team has a John...how many teams have a Boof? I didn't look
it up (I'm a lazy lazy man...google it if you're curious) but I'm gonna go out on a
limb here and say ONE!
They are also gonna have Adrian Beltre at 3rd. An upgrade from Mikey Lowell you ask?

Not even freakin close! Adrian Beltre had so much talent years back that I was torn as to who would hit for the Triple Crown first; him or Raul Mondesi. Both ended up falling just short of such a feat, and by just I mean nowhere near.

They lost Bay to the Mets and are going with Cameron in center and shifting
Ellsbury over to left. Upgrade? It's say this one is a wash. You all know I'm a HUGE Bay fan and lobbied for a new deal for him all of last year.

BUT I'm also a pretty big Cameron fan, have been ever since I saw him head but Carlos Beltran. I think you will see similar numbers out of Bay and Cameron this year though the big question will be how Ellsbury handles the wall.

This is one move we won't be able to grade until halfway through the
season at best.

Which brings me to this and with this I will close.

Sox offseason: Boof, John, Mike and Adrian.

Yankees Offseason: Curtis Granderson, (A rejuvinated) Javier Vasquez, Nick Johnson.

What does that mean? Did the Yankees out work us this off season again? Are they a lock for another title? Will they set a record for most wins in a season?

Maybe...but they don't have a Boof!

For Fenwayparkfans this is Boston Bob signing off!
