There are certain things in life that go without saying; the “givens” so to speak.

You never hear a guy ask another guy; “Would you sleep with Megan Fox?” as the answer is a GIVEN (and guys have better terms for sex than “sleep with”).love.gif

There are certain things in life that go without saying; the “givens” so to speak.

You never hear a guy ask another guy; “Would you sleep with Megan Fox?” as the answer is a GIVEN (and guys have better terms for sex than “sleep with”).

If at any point in your life someone walked up to you and said “Has anyone ever told you that you look like Danny DeVito” then you being a lonely individual is a GIVEN.

Every day something happens in life that is no big deal as it was supposed to happen that way. When a good team plays a bad team it’s a GIVEN that they are going to win.

When the Brooklyn Brawler came to the ring in the old WWF days it was a Given that he was there for a beating. When I go to a club on a Friday night it’s a Given that I’m going home with a beautiful woman that chances are will NOT be all that beautiful the next morning.

These are just a few examples of Life’s Givens. The world is full of them; you really don’t even have to look. So what I’d like to do is point out what I consider to be the biggest GIVEN of this baseball season. Oh, and apologize to Danny DeVito for being so brutally honest. Honest Danny, Honest!

The Sox will win the division handily! That’s right..you heard it from Boston Bob at FenwayParkFans.com. Nothing bold or crazy, just a statement that should be obvious, should be a “given” but might not be. The Sox win the division and finish the season with the best record in baseball, that’s a GIVEN! And after watching Smoltz pitch last night it became even more of a GIVEN!

He had a shaky first inning but that was to be expected. Buckled down to retire the last 8 batters he faced, final 3 by the way of the K (seriously, I’ve always wanted to write that for some reason). And he will just get stronger the more he plays. I think come seasons end he will be stronger and ready for the playoffs.

Imagine a Beckett, Lester, Smoltz 3 in the playoffs.

But let’s not get a head of ourselves here…we still need to finish up the season. With the best record in baseball!

Short but sweet that’s the way I see it, Danny DeVito and all!
