Can you believe that Tim Wakefield is 9 and 3 this year? And he didn’t even sleep with Alyssa Milano. Or did he???
Regardless he was on point again last night and the bullpen did what they do best, got people out! 39 – 25 heading in to tonight’s action with Penny on the mound. And he DID sleep with Alyssa Milano!!!

So for the sake of argument FenwayParkFans.com is going to say that they win tonight’s game. 15 over .500 in Mid-June isn’t a bad thing at all! Yankees are playing good so say they win; we’re still 2 games up in the East. In all honesty the way we are playing I see us winning tonight, tomorrow night and most every night there on out.
And while winning all the time/being in first place is exciting for sure it is not the most exciting thing going on there tonight. You see, tonight is a special night for our old friend Fenway Park. After tonight’s game it will be 500 consecutive sellouts for our old pal.
That’s right, the past 500 FREAKING games played at Fenway there has not been a single empty seat in the park. That’s roughly 20 million people enjoying Fenway Franks and awesome accents! And it’s a streak that started back in 2003.
In contrast the Cleveland Indians held the previous record. From 1995 until 2001 they had 455 sellouts. Then people realized that all these years they had been going to Indians games; the sellout was no more!
Here we are 8 years later and the Sox have not only kept the streak going but in a way they are adding to it. When everyone wanted a new stadium they added more seats instead, hence the park got bigger. And to add a bit of class they put in the EMC Club (another expansion).
Since this streak officially started Fenway has gone from almost 34,000 seats to (unofficially) a little over 40. And even though it keeps expanding it still can’t keep up with the Sox fans that want it bigger, want more tickets.
So from Boston Bob and FenwayParkFans.com…..congrats to you Fenway on your 500th sellout! And while I don’t condone someone “rubbing it in” I can’t say I’d blame you if you picked up the phone in the dugout and called your friend New Yankees Stadium to see how they are doing. I hear he can’t even sell a ticket!
